Anticipation for new Ford Ranger sparks excitement among our designers!

We all have things that we greatly anticipate... Christmas, the latest album or film, the football scores on a Saturday, are all on the list for some people, but for me, I must admit I still get excited by the launch of a new pick-up truck.

Today marks the ‘Big Reveal’ where Ford will introduce the all-new model Ranger to the world, (well the 180 countries that it is sold into), with sales expected to commence early in 2022. I for one can’t wait, as from what I’ve seen from teaser images, videos, and articles about its capabilities, it’s going to be a worthy addition to the UK pick-up truck market.

The latest Ranger is the newest vehicle to come from the platform-sharing deal that was struck between Ford and VW for commercial vehicles, which will see the new Ranger and upcoming VW Amarok sharing a platform. This follows on from the successful VW Caddy/Ford Torneau Connect launches for both marques, and a VW Transporter/Transit Custom looks to be next on the drawing board for the two companies.

There is a staggering level of development that has gone into the new Ranger, with over 750,000 miles of testing completed, and in my opinion as crucially, feedback on the outgoing model received from over 5000 owners across the world.

Here at Truckman, we have a similar commitment to our in-house product development, and this will be no different when it comes to our extensive range of hardtops and accessories for the new Ranger and the new Amarok. Our in-house designers and engineers are exciting to see the specs of the new vehicles in order to produce a new range of hardtops to complement and enhance the new trucks.

We think it’s crucial to have a UK designed hardtop specifically designed for the UK market. Every Truckman canopy considers the finer details of hardtop design, such as adding conduit wiring system into our commercial hardtops to allow customers to add bespoke wiring to power electrical equipment in the truck bed and making the lines of the hardtop roof stylishly and aerodynamically flow from the roof of the vehicle to the hardtop - little details you may think, but important details.

From the 1980s, and since 2008 when it was acquired by Autostyling, Truckman has become the world’s most iconic brand of hardtops and we work exceptionally hard to produce canopies that not only seamlessly fit to the latest models of hardtops, but also meet the needs of both our commercial and leisure customers.

Taking advantage of our large warehouse capacity, we’ll also have plenty of stock ready to ship into dealerships as required, and for when customers bring their new Rangers to our in-house fitting centre here at our West Midlands HQ.
