Do I need to order a J-Brace with my hardtop?
When fitting a hardtop on some vehicles, a J-Brace is required to comply with the vehicle's safety legislation. As it currently stands, a J-Brace is required when fitting a hardtop to a 2023 onwards Ford Ranger (Mk8) or to a 2023 onwards VW Amarok (Mk3). As new vehicles are released, we expect the amount of vehicle models that will require this will increase. In some cases, you may also require a J-Brace when fitting some lift up tonneau covers and roller shutters. If you are fitting a roller shutter and adding cross bars, you'll require one if you will be carrying 45kg or more weight on top. J-Braces are vehicle and model specific, so if you do require one, please ensure you order the correct one to match your vehicle. If you are struggling to locate the correct J-Brace, contact us and we'll help you.
