The company, based in the town’s Narrowboat Way, is helping drive the Macmillan Cancer Coffee Morning challenge forward next Friday (September 27). Staff will be loading up tea, coffee and cake on to the back of a pick-up truck and offering neighbours on the Blackbrook Valley Industrial Estate to ‘pick-up’ a cuppa and cake. Truckman is also hosting a MacMillan Coffee morning for its staff and customers at its headquarters. Mike Wheeler, Executive Chairman of Truckman, which is the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of vehicle accessories including hardtops for pick-up trucks, said: “Macmillan does fantastic work helping people living with cancer and their families, both emotionally and practically. “It relies a great deal on donations to fund its support for the growing number of people with cancer, which is why is it so important that as many people as possible back fund-raising initiatives likes this.” Mike added: “Truckman prides itself on giving something back to the local community and offering a mobile refreshment service to neighbouring businesses, in aid of such a worthy cause, is an example of our staff doing just that.” Macmillan Cancer Support is encouraging people across the UK to host coffee mornings next Friday at home, work or in the community, collecting donations for drinks and edible treats to bring in donations. The charity says: “Every penny raised helps us be right there for people living with cancer.”
