DECKED's Redesign Gives You 30% Extra Storage Space

It’s no secret that the current DECKED Drawer System has been a hit amongst pick-up owners in the UK and we’ve seen it become one of our best-selling products, month after month. DECKED wondered where they could go from there. So with a complete from-the-ground-up redesign of the award-winning truck bed system, DECKED launched the Next-Generation Drawer System.

The biggest change you’ll notice is the two-drawer system being reduced to one singular drawer. Now, we understand how that sounds, but you aren’t losing anything. The new design means increased drawer storage capacity, more efficient use of your truck bed and an increased drawer extension. 

“After ten years of listening to feedback from our most rigorous testers and critics and constantly improving the products we were selling, it was time to scrap the old playbook and start over from scratch. That meant redesigning the product the way we knew it needed to be built” said DECKED VP of Marketing, Greg Randolph. 

“This is a total redesign with new moulds and tools as well as our very own in-house manufacturing. This is a huge leap forward for the customer and for DECKED”.

With 30% more drawer storage capacity than previous versions, pick-up customers will now have more than enough space for their tools, camping gear or bug-out essentials. This drawer can also be reconfigured into a big sliding tray by removing the drawer sides for better access and storage customisation with DECKED’s line of D-co Cases. Users will find that the Ammo Can corner bins have been deleted and in their place are two pass-throughs (open spaces along the side of DECKED’s new system), one on each outbound side, reaching from the tailgate to the wheel well – and even beyond, in some fitments. DECKED’s systems have two stash bin access ports, one on each side, which are also covered by a waterproof and lockable lid. Four Stash Bins come included for dropping into these locations as desired. On the cabside end, the system is fitted with two access ports that pop open to provide access to any space left unoccupied by the wheel wells outbound of the drawer.

So with this whole redesign, what benefits do you get out of it?

Firstly, let’s talk about the biggest change, which also happens to be the main feature of the system. The new singular drawer is highly adaptable meaning you can easily customise it for various cargo sizes and shapes, so no matter what you are trying to store, (to an extent) you can. 

You can also use the new range of accessories (we’ll get into that in a bit) to customise the layout exactly how you want. The whole drawer can store up to 181kg so you can transport heavy cargo without worrying about damaging your truck bed. DECKED is also a very secure storage system as the drawer when closed is behind a tailgate that can be locked, preventing people from opening it, keeping your cargo  away from prying eyes. 

Another new feature is the Non-Slip Rubber Mat which prevents cargo from sliding around in the bed of the system. Worried about the items that you can’t store in the drawer? No need, the new drawer system has a more relative 454kg payload on top it as well as built-in tie-downs so you can secure your cargo in place. The tie-downs also act as non-drill installation points for DECKED’s CargoGlide. To ensure a robust and reliable connection to your vehicle, DECKED has designed a Steel2Steel mounting system for the ultimate strength. So in conclusion, DECKED have gone through a whole redesign of their market-leading drawer system and now instead of two drawers, there’s one singular drawer but you gain an extra 30% storage space.
