Truckman and RS-3 hardtop up for WhatVan? Aftermarket Accessory of the Year

Aiming to emulate the achievement of its truck bed drawer system, DECKED, which scooped the Aftermarket Accessories award in 2019, Truckman takes its place on a three-strong shortlist for the WhatVan? Awards’ category with its new British-built commercial hardtop.

Taking place on 11 December in London, the WhatVan? Awards are renowned as the most-prized independent endorsements of excellence in the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) industry.
Being named a finalist is a significant honour for the Truckman RS-3, which was only introduced to the pick-up market by Truckman this summer.
Featuring remote lockable gull-wing doors which, along with the rear door, provides all-round access to enable tradespeople and engineers to easily access tools and equipment anywhere in the truck bed. Cab-high, the hardtop reduces aerodynamic drag and improves fuel efficiency as well as accessibility in cramped locations.

Suited for off-highway and construction site projects thanks to its durable structure, the hardtop’s access is matched by its security features with remote central locking on all three doors and a tinted rear door to help restrict the truck bed contents from view.
The RS-3 can be colour matched but comes as standard in the ultra-robust and OEM white matched gel coating, which is much thicker than standard paint ensuring even deep scratches to the hardtop’s exterior can be polished out. The gel coat also has comprehensive UV protection to provide a durable long-term gel finish. 

Designed and built at Truckman’s facility in the West Midlands, the RS-3 has been initially introduced for the Isuzu D-Max and the Toyota Hilux Active with further OEM models due for release soon.

Its increased level of access are matched by its security features, which include remote central locking on all three doors and a tinted glazed rear door to keep truck bed contents from view. Cab-high, to complement pick-up truck styling, the RS-3 is currently available for the Isuzu D-Max, with other OEM models becoming available very soon.  

Manufactured in the West Midlands with a gel white, superior gloss finish, which provides comprehensive UV protection and the ability to polish out scratches, the Truckman RS-3 also offers a glazed, fixed bulkhead for better visibility.

This new commercial hardtop is also highly-adaptable and, as well as coming in a variety of colour-coded finishes, the Truckman RS-3 can be fitted with optional lights, vents, bespoke wiring and beacons.  The hardtop can also help engineers and tradespeople with the organisation and storage of tools and equipment with the addition of Truckman racking and drawers, which seamlessly fit in the truck bed.
